Ken Isted

Ken was born and grew up in London’s east end; he discovered his passion for music at a very early age. As a child he played on his father’s pre-war drum kit.

He played in his first band at age15, the band won a Radio Luxembourg talent show where the first prize was a Decca recording contract. They recorded several tracks at the London Decca studios but none were released. The band then came to Germany in 1966 . They played the U.S Forces Germany club circuit for over 3 years.

Other bands Ken has played with include “The Modern Sounds”, “Channel Worker”, “Choice”, “The BK Blues Band”, “Paradocs”, “Alma Project”, “Goober”, “New Tricks”, and The High Knees. Ken has also done numerous studio sessions over the years in both the UK and Germany.

Ken’s musical influences include Ginger Baker, John Bonham, Buddy Rich, Neil Peart , Simon Phillips, Steve Gadd, and Keith Moon. Ken has been a Sempiternus endorser since February 2018 and currently plays a 14” x 8” Doga Classica in Custom Deep Blue.
